Testimonials

Dear Jan, Doug, and Max,

A kitchen renovation is a huge undertaking. It is one of the most disruptive home improvements one can experience as well as requiring a major financial commitment. Choosing a reputable, trustworthy team to plan, design, and implement the project is of utmost importance.

We started the process by engaging the services of Jan Blonder of Design Essence in Old Saybrook. Our re-design objectives and initial ideas centered mostly on a more convenient workflow within the space, with more storage and updated appliances, utilizing a simple and understated motif. Jan produced a scale drawing that incorpaorated some structural alterations which met all our criteria. She remained involved throughout the project in facilitating decisions regarding cabinets, counter tops, colors, and decor. She recommended Page Hardware in Guilford for appliances and introduced us to Doug Getty, a Certified Kitchen Designer at Ring's End in Niantic.

Doug was remarkable in his knowledge of the various prpoducts available. With the idea of maximizing the utilization of space available, he personally took precise measurements, finalized the floor plan, and ordered the products we had selected. It was particularly noteworthy that the cabinetry, faucets, and sinks all arrived on schedule and fit perfectly. When it later turned out that the granite we had selected for our counters was only available in a lighter hue than the sample we had seen, he arranged for us to meet with Joyce at Fordham Marble in Stamford to make a new selection. Joyce provided us with several alternatives and expedited the prpocess so that we would have our newly selected counter tops on schedule. Alfredo and Auriel, who templated and installed the counters, were also very skilled an proficient. Doug Getty obviously knows kitchen design, enjoys his work and does it professionally and with personal warmth.

Both Jan and Doug recommended Max Wyeth of Wyeth Builder and Remodelers in East Lyme as a contractor. We were impressed with his initial presentation and the thoroughness of his cost estimate. It included plumbing and electrical work that he would sub-contract and a detailed provision for handling any subsequent change orders. Max and his crew showed up punctually at 7:30AM from day one and throughout their involvement in the project and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. After the demolition of the existing kitchen, they provided us with a temporary sink and a couple of wooden counter tops to see us through the construction period. Their precision trim cutting and installation skills were excellent, as was their framing carpentry where replacement sheet rocking and outside venting was required. Max made the scheduling of the plumbing and electrical work to synchronize with the rest of the project look easy. Over and over, he proved his abilities as a skilled contractor and businessman. In his easy going manner, he personally saw to all day-to-day issues to ensure a positive outcome. He ultimately brought the project to a close on time and within the initial budget he had proposed.

The anxieties associated with a kitchen makeover can be minimed by the selection of a highly competent team of professionals. Jan, Doug, and Max unequivocally meet this standard and we give each of them our highest recommendation.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship and exceptional service provided by Wyeth Woodworking. Mr. Wyeth was very accommodating and with us "every step of the way" through our project. The results exceded our expectation. We were so impressed that we would not hesitate to recommend his services to friends and family. Actually, due to the caliber of workmanship and service that Mr. Wyeth delivers, we will be requesting a bid from him for a larger, future project.

Dear Max,

Thank you for the outstanding professional job you did during our kitchen-remodeling project. We are enjoying our beautiful new kitchen and want to thank you for the constant attention to detail that you provided during the remodeling process. It is common and unfortunate knowledge that almost all the stories the public hears about contractors is always negative. It is with pleasure that we share our positive home remodeling experience with our friends.

A kitchen renovation is a major investment and naturally, we interviewed other contractors for the job. You made a strong first impression by arriving on time and with your work portfolio. By looking through your portfolio, we were able to see the broad range of skills used in both interior and exterior jobs. Also included for our review were copies of your contractor's license, proof of insurance, and proof of enrollment in various professional trade organizations.

We are very glad that we chose a local contractor, because once you started the job, there was no disappearing act that all homeowners who have hired contractors fear. We knew that our kitchen was a priority, and your strong sense of responsibility and commitment meant you would keep our project a top priority.

Thank you for being competent, hard working, reliable and trustworth. We wish you continued success.

Rose and Robert
